I was browsing around a handful of accounts of English-speaking Nijimale fans in Twitter and as sometimes happened there was a retard who again whined about Ago being a lolicon. This is honestly an insufferable trend for my generation's weebs (I think a particularly schizo person wrote entire thread shitting on Akina for this sometime ago) but what caught me off guard was Ago's fans defended him mostly by saying he's not actually a lolicon, that it's just a fictional persona, that he meant it in the sense of liking cute little girls etc.
Fucking hell he had referenced Comic LO before and literally tweeted about his favorite phrase from it. It makes a little sense when you think about it, Nijisanji as whole isn't that popular in the west (heck even with EN I would say the other branches continue to be pretty obscure to most of the west) and the west is also notably under a pretty tight grip from Hololive, so them going the extra mile with the advertising and stuff makes sense, doubly so with the males since AC seems to be aware of the west seeming lack of male vtubers and interest in them (what with them waiting so goddammed long to actually debut males in EN and shit), so going even futher for them isn't that surprising, especially with how flickle YT's algo is and it being Holiday season.

Just don't have interest, always was a bit apathetic towards the EN branch, only really checked a few streams here and there, and in the time it took them to get males several indies and some smaller corpos popped up and caught my eye a lot, add to them the ones I already watched (both in Niji and in other places like Holostars) and I'm in no hurry to add more, especially with the designs not interesting me at all and some of the members' PLs letting me know they very likely won't be of my preference.
So yeah, I just don't really have the interest to check them out, already have my hands full and no intention to expand branch out more, nothing against them or the branch, just a lack of interest, simply as.

Something I was thinking is interesting is that it took a surprisingly long time for one of the big corporations to get a British vtuber even though there are definitely some out there amongst the indies. They went through eleven HoloENs and ten NijiENs without managing to get a single British person before they finally picked a couple in the first male wave of NijiEN. I mean setting aside what you personally think about the British it is true that there are definitely a lot of people out there who fetishize British accents so you'd think the corps would have hopped on that market sooner. But at least it's finally happening.

A better excuse not to watch the debuts would be that debuts are consistently a very bad representation of the streamer's personality and feels more like them putting on a scripted comedy show before their first real stream, which is where you find out what their actual personality is like and if they'll end up being to your tastes. You don't need to watch anyone's debuts, if they're worth watching you'll catch one of their later streams and find out they're to your liking that way.
