I like coming to these threads because they make me feel noticed despite my utter obscurity in the grand scheme of vtubing. The numbers game never weighed one before but I was close to getting affiliate and thought I would've achieved it by now. I guess the taste of actually having a handful of more people chatting during stream made me feel less irrelevant as a vtuber than just chatting to no one. Now that I'm back in literal 2view territory I think it's hitting me harder than usual.

1 - Go live for a newish game, but it's a bit shit. The devs didn't set up the subreddit, I was the third post or something? The mod came in, and left a comment of "what the fuck, I forgot this existed"

2 - WH40k clip to r/virtualyoutubes. Got a decent amount of traction, but still ~15 updoots.

3 - Go live notification for a retro game. Hit a CCV of 15. No new follows or chatters. They all just lurked

4 - semi-active on streaming subs, and have had four people say "I saw you on reddit, and your advice was useful, so I followed"

You could try to learn how to do a simple Live2d model. I made mine by just slightly editing a mugshot of an anime and getting some of the mouth movements from other shots.
It's not that hard to do, I'm a slow learner and even I had the hang of it after a month.
Then again, mine was just a test and not an original character, so you might have to work a bit more to edit an anime character that resembles yours.

>> No.14550251

Nobody's doing anything unique but there should be something that you're doing better than the others to differentiate yourself as a drawpoint compared to other vtubers out there. There are vtubers good at singing, drawing, some do great zatsudans, ASMR, roleplay, cooking, warhammer painting and etc etc and you need to figure out what you're good at and to focus on getting better at in order to draw in an audience.

There's not, and there likely won't be for years to come unless you're just exceptionally skilled from the get go as most people who are big now started with some sort of talent already. What they do is dependent on large audiences, guaranteed. Your content shifts as a streamer as you gain viewers and there's much more leeway. He can go live and watch Gura's outfit debut while his chat memes and shits on it, you can't. He can go live and watch LSF clips, meanwhile most chuuba viewers have no clue what that is.

People need to know who you are first before you start doing any kind of content replication, but Ludwig started off with lots and lots of Youtube research, editing, and just general knowledge about streaming/content creation methods and the numbers behind it. That's specifically why he mentions "old sodapoppin".

They've also got the benefit of being an IRL Streamer which, believe it or not, matters. You need content that's entertaining with just a 2D model, wit, and maybe some ingenuity figuring out some cool tricks you can do with the medium. His best old bits were visual and performative like body painting or being zapped with a tazer or dancing with a shovel. Now he sits around and plays shitgames and WoW.

Kind of a weird question: I realised that because of the marketing funnel effect, people who follow rarely translate directly into views. If we take followers as someone who “bookmarked” your stream because they may check it out later, what drives people to do that? The thing in the end that drives them to come back is your personality and the content you create. I'd say people who follow and never return is a lot more complex since even top streamers tend to have a pretty low follower to viewer ration. I'd say it's anyone who loses interest in you or your content, or never had it in the first place. Content always needs to come first. It's the most important aspect, but if people don't like your personality (which is what drives the content as far as live stuff goes), then they've got no reason to stay.

1) build your portfolio
- host a raffle. clarify that you want to rig unique models. this is so you can make a png of their model the requirement to enter. they can email it to you if they don't want to publicly post it. this is important. you want to pick the highest quality models here, as in the ones that look the best or have big artists attached to them. I've seen great riggers get little traction because the art they rigged was low tier. if you pick multiple models make sure they have different features. f.e. one with wings, one with cat ears/tail.

2- showcase and animation tool
learn the animation tool and make gifs to advertise your rigs. make a showcase and show off the movement of your already rigged models.
you can use the "play" button in live2d for this but frankly it will always look unnatural, you're better off making a proper showcase.
3- pricing
make a price sheet and explain what your clients are getting out of commissioning you. f.e. if you can do advanced mouth movement/ body movement/ angle Y2 or angle Y3 even... etc.

- Red/white japanese theme is alright. Is it Christmassy, or just because I've not seen you before? However, you then don't have a BG for the game - it's just the poster art. Consider either fullscreening, or get a static background
- You flicker between non/talking. Are you using Fugi, or Discord plug-in thing?
- your chatbox overlay is white text, with white on background. Consider using either a shadow drop, or a colour source to add a bit of contrast.
- 00:05:09 - subtitles say "her death in indeed tragic", NPC says "her death is indeed tragic", you say "her death in indeed tragic" as an echo. Don't voice when it's already spoken, feel free to read-out subtitles
- 00:22:19 - subtitles have words, NPC doesn't say anything, you don't read everything the pumpkin head thing talks about. Either read all of it, or none of it.

8 hours is pretty long for a streamer just starting out. for starters, its hard to expect viewers to stick around for that long, so your average viewers will be lower as they will be spread more thin.
furthermore, and more importantly, youll have a harder time keeping your energy up and filling dead air if you go for that long. so youre more likely to end up with 8 hours of boring shit. this also means that your vods will be less attractive to non-live viewers and youll have to spend more time going back through it for highlights/clips, so itll be harder to draw in viewers with recorded content when you arent streaming.
bottom line is 1 hour of great content is much better than 8 hours of okay content. but the sweet spot is around 2-4 hours and i wouldnt recommend going beyond that. 5 days a week as fine, you can probably just do as many days as you can manage without burning out.
like if you just wanna play games and maybe have some people watching to chat with then dont mind me, stream whenever and however you want. but if you wanna take it serious just remember that most of the work you do for your stream should be off-stream. quantity < quality, after all it might only take one great 30 second clip to launch you off

>> No.14683001

8 hours a day streams? Lol, you won't even last an hour on the first one. The reason why is because your throat is not used to speaking that long. Your throat will most likely be sore the next day. Stream your first week first and then decide what's right for you.
