So, ads.

Unless the viewer is using an adblock, there will always be ads, whether the streamer is unaffiliated, affiliate, or partner. No way around the existence of them. If they run before watching the stream, then they're "preroll". Going affiliate just gives the streamer some of the ad revenue, and some ability to control them, so it's always worth it for that way - I've seen a LOT of vtubers on twitter say "I'm not going to affiliate, because then my viewers will have adverts" because they're retarded.

The streamer can run ads (either manually, or automatically) to turn off adverts, at the rate of 30 seconds of advert gives 10 minutes of no prerolls; up to 30 minutes (actually 32, as it starts from when you start adverts, but the point stands). If you were to run 5 minutes of ads (10 blocks of advert), you do not get 100 minutes of no prerolls, it's capped at the 30 minutes

You can run another ad break after about 6~8 minutes. If you wanted, you could start stream, run 90 seconds of advert, leave on 'Starting Soon' for six minutes, run another 90 seconds of adverts, and then get ~54 minutes of no pre-rolls. I don't know if you could stack another set for ~78 minutes, but I've not checked.

Manually running 90 seconds of adverts when you first start the stream, or go for a break; is fine. You're not doing it over any content, and it means people who turn up get to skip the pre-roll

If you want, you can set mid-roll adverts to run automatically. This means every ~30 minutes, you'll run 90 seconds of adverts. No new viewer will ever have to sit through preroll, which is great! Until they hit the 30-minute timer, and get 90 seconds. I will unfollow anyone running mid-roll ads this way, as it only benefits the streamer, and only for a few cents, and I'll miss their content. I would rather sit through the opening preroll than have frequent advert breaks. It does not encourage me to sub. I only sub either for the emotes, or because I like the streamer.

You NEED good emotes for this - check your emote stats. My most used emote is used by 125% of my number of subscribers, but it's my raid emote, and I hype people to spend the channel points to unlock it. My next most popular has 50% of subscribers use it outside of channel.

I've made wigglies for a load of my friends as well. The problem is that I'm only a beginner wigglimancer, so they're pretty low quality. But I've been pointing everyone to Bodega's template to make their own if they're interested in it.

I know of two streamers who use the one I made them, and six others that have them ready to go.
