The hatred Japanese have for communists is one thing, but there is also the fact that for the most part, Japan has such strict labour laws that the existence of unions have been rendered unnecessary. This is a country where it's virtually impossible to fire someone unless they have a legal reason (e.g. Hitomi Chris, Artia). The worst they can do is corporate discrimination (aka "Banishment Room" ike what happened to Coco) but that only really works on the ambitious and creative; if you're an ordinary mindless wagie, that doesn't matter as you still get paid.

For the ambitious and freethinking like Coco and Kiara, Hololive is a totalitarian dystopia. But for the vast majority of streamers who just have to do the bare minimum to earn their daily bread, Hololive is the perfect dream job.

Considering the talents are basically given free reign to work as hard or little as they want (fucking Ayame has been gone for nearly 2 months and we know she's doing fine) and the work environment according to the girls is extremely nice along with them being able to straight up talk to the CEO directly than I would say their fine without unionizing especially since the talents can theoretically hold the company by their balls by threatening to walk out and ruin their reputation (Fubuki saying she would willingly quit if her trust in Cover is misplaced).

Yup, you literally cannot fire someone. Even if they are unquestionably putting you in the red. People don't understand how strict the labor laws are. Your company must be essentially on the verge of bankruptcy and you must show that you've cut your bonuses and pay etc with no other recourse before you can fire anyone if they haven't broken any contractual terms.
