Gawr Gura died of COVID-19 complications on November 30th, 2021 after a week-long battle against the virus. In realizing how disastrous the news would be for Chumbuds and fearing mass suicides Cover quickly scrambled to find a replacement that could mimic the beloved Shark well enough to fool viewers into believing that Gura was in fact alive and nothing was out of the ordinary. The rest of Hololive is taking it rough but are being forced to keep quiet with the potential catastrophe that may be on their hands should the news leak. Hints towards this are littered throughout the latest stream, especially the Green hoodie that marks a departure from her traditional colors in addition to symbolizing rebirth, as in Gura's rebirth as a new VA. You may not believe it now, but time will inevitably prove you wrong as the Holomems won't be able to stay completely silent forever.
