Happens with literally every large/growing business. There's a specific name for it that I don't remember atm, but people do buy out domains similar to big companies in order to either try and pose as them for nefarious reasons, or to *try* (they often get sued into oblivion depending on the company) and sell the domain to the company. You can't truly preempt these people as there's pretty much near infinite ways to get a near exact domain name. In which you either sue them into oblivion if you're a big worldwide brand, or ignore them.
