Would viewers be okay if I started streaming with little to no assets, then slowly draw my stuff on stream? Like animating my starting screens on stream etc.

Sounds interesting, go for it!

staying positive through the stagnation. i know i only just started so there's nothing i can do to keep trying but sometimes nothing going on after i stream kinda stings. at the very least i'm slowly learning how to edit my videos for tiktok and what not so i'm learning

Use this time to pick up skills and improve yourself, anon. The hardest step is starting, and you've already overcome that. It's only uphill from now. Maybe not number-wise yet, but self-improvement first, and the numbers will follow. Rooting for you.

thanks, i really appreciate it. something i want to do once i get a small following is start by doing karaoke, because what i kind of want to do is make dubbed lyrics of old anime songs. it's something i've thought on and off of and it's honestly pretty fun, but i only want to drop that once i have a crowd who'll hear it.

You could start by posting covers and stuff, or collecting assets that can make your stream spicy. Maybe even drawing your own art, making your own MVs. Small small skills that help you in the long run. Also connections! You'd be surprised how easy it is to get fanart.

been going through the same thing this whole month and its hard to stick through but sometimes I think about all the people I've met so far and it unironically makes me want to keep pushing harder though it all
also >>13439855 damn I've had the same idea but with just japanese songs in general; im a big fan of people like rachie and will stetson; their song dubs are really on point

i'm doing minor networking reps, just finding other small chuubas who might share interests with me but it's only hard because i'm not a huge fan of the majorly popular games on twitch, although i might get into minecraft just to try some challenges like one block. i might do a quick cover song with my idea of dubbed lyrics though, i just gotta deal with the fact i stream in a pretty open room and don't have the real capacity to make it karaoke comfy without a *tiny* bit of echo.

those two are the biggest inspiration for it yeah, it just depends on how you flare it up. direct japanese to english will always be awkward but i really like improv so coming up with lyrics is really fun to me when it flows well.

FAQ:
Question: do you think people will want to watch me do X?
Answer: would you watch someone you don't know do X?
if yes, do it. if no, don't.

>> No.13440780

>>13440554
Why not? I feel like those interested in how they're made would want to see the process of it.

how would they find you in the first place?

People only care about your assets if you already have an audience.

Just finished streaming myself learning programming (javascript) for the 4th night in a row. Got up to 6 viewers this time.

Nice job, anon! That sounds like it could be an interesting niche.

What would you consider a good amount of growth to be in the first few months of streaming? Also is it okay to use the vtuber tag even if I'm just a pngtuber right now or does that turn people away?

>> No.13444076

Thanks! I started out playing video games and decided to do school work one night. It just kinda stuck.

I started with a reactive PNG, and no 'assets'. My background was a scanned piece of parchment, and my Starting Soon, BRB, and Ending Soon backgrounds were all badly inked text on it.
Nobody seemed to *hate* them, but it was low quality, and made the stream look kinda scuffed. I've upgraded now, but it hasn't made much difference to my figures.
Viewers don't care about how flashy your secondary/tertiary assets are. they care about your model, and your personality. Ugly assets will hinder you, but nobody is going to think "Woah, they have an animated chat box? I'm gonna subscribe!"
