Do you envy them? Envy their popularity, envy that they are loved, that they have millions fans and many talented artists among those fans, who make tons of really good art and animations with them? Envy that they are untouchable? Do you envy that they themselves often have good skills in drawing, singing or being entertaining? Or that they can stop streaming for a month and still get paid and loved?

How does it make you feel - looking up at girls who just straight up won in life, just with their own bare hands, while most probably being younger than you?

Well yeah if it was someone like pekora's mom it would probably be impossible for her to be successful like this, because it's purely younger women who are going to win in this particular field.

Yeah, not gonna deny it. I prefer not to think about it, nothing I can do about it really not bring a cute Japanese girl larper with some luck to get to the correct agency.
At some point of life you just have to accept the existence of persons that for whatever reason they lucked out to made it in life (sometimes from birth) and are truly free to just focus in whatever brings them realization while you are a poor and depressed fuck.
Better to think about improving yourself than to seethe at the inherent unfairness of the world.

No, not really.
First, you are wrong about money they get. After all fees and taxes, they get only a little scraps of original superchats/merch sales/other stuff. Only couple of select ones reach 1 mil actual income through their entire vtubing careers.
Second, most of them drop their previous jobs and education for vtubing. I really doubt that it will last more than 2 years from now. After that they'll become complete nonames with ruined lives. I also doubt that anybody would be interested in their experience they gained while being a vtuber.

They're coded into their roles and will never be truly free. Popularity isn't a blessing, it's a curse. They and anyone else with popularity are doomed to live in a guilded cage, with their luxuries taken away the minute they step out of line.

I spend my time being jealous of the actually powerful and wealthy who live their lives in secrecy, wielding untold amounts of political and real power. Nobody in the real world cares if you're internet popular, but everyone kneels when you have a net worth of 1+ billion.

Some of them are millionaires. Kson revealed youtube paid her 150k in september, that's after youtube took their cut, so considering how long some of them have been doing this, and that ads + superchats is only part of their revenue and you have to adds sponsors and merch on top, it's fair to say the top ones are millionaires. Yes that's US dollars. There's no reason to believe she's lying either, as superchat revenue is public information. Kson and Rushia are the top superchatted people on the planet, consistenly going over 100k a month. Add to that ad revenue by their views, minus youtube's cut. 150k a month isn't unreasonable. Rushia has to share it with Cover, kson doesn't anymore. Then of course there's taxes.

Bro, we have a twitch leak. Miko made $120k in 20~ stream on Twitch, most of them watch parties. Pekora streamed 3 times on twitch and made $24k. Think about how they never touch twitch. A decent tier vtuber, Fumi from Nijisanji, made $3.7k a month from a few memberships and 600 live viewer median. The average Hololive member gets 15 times the amount of views as that. That is just youtube revenue. They often front the money for merch so they get the lion's share back. Sponsorships are a huge plus too. Polka, an industry veteran, said that SCs were chump change and sponsorships/merch make the money. Kiara, after 4 months of vtubing, qualified for a wealth VISA which requires $300k in liquid cash to obtain.

Think about Sakura Miko, she grosses $15 per month from twitch, $40k per month on members ships, $40k+ per month on SCs. We don't know how much she gets from VODs or merch/sponsorships. We do know she rented out a cafe for 3 weeks for her 3rd anniversary and bought her mother a $30k+ car for her mother with less than her monthly pay.

The top vtubers are loaded, they may not have 3+ million but a few hololivers have more than a million.
