You could try it though, maybe try repeating "I need to find Kiki" and then your subconscious might do the heavy lifting of materializing her instead of doing it wholly consciously.

There are several ways to trigger a lucid dream, you can google them, but at its core is realizing some inconsistency and that it is just a dream. Looking at your hands or numbers/letters is good as they will change in front of your eyes. I also find it easier to fall into lucid dreaming, sometimes from the very start, during daytime naps.

Now, the problem with imagining the person you love is that at the core of lucid dreaming is the fact it is only a dream and the NPCs in your dream will usually lose their character and importance. When I was in love with a girl long ago I had repeatedly failed to get anywhere further than a kiss in my dreams, which happened in a normal dream, and even if it was a lucid dream when I meet her in it I dropped out of lucidity because I really cared how I acted in front of her. Basically you don't want to know it is a dream when you're dreaming of the person you love.

Yes, that is a problem, you need to not be "overly conscious". In my experience the way the lucid dream ends is in a white-out, and I've learned to kind of "feel" it happening, so when I think I might wake up I let go and stop trying to do what I'm doing. There is a spectrum between a normal and lucid dream, how conscious you are, and you need to ride that line. It is a misconception you are "fully" conscious in lucid dreams, its more like you just have a few real ideas and motivations you consciously insert, but you can still act silly and believe other shit happening in the dream are real if you aren't thinking about them.
