It’s because they’ve become sensitized to the slightest offense by not seeing anything more than that. Meaning they still react in amazement over the slightest banter, because they’ve become conditioned to so much less than the average person. Cover likely hoped it will foster a more ad friendly or obedient audience, or particularly, to focus on more family friendly content.

Corporate-mandated collabs suck no matter the company. Collabs put together by the talents themselves are 100x better. Of those, NijiEN's collabs greatly outshine HoloEN's.

This thread is beyond saving, but I actually started watching NijiEN from the Jackbox collab and I wanted to watch the current Jackbox collab to compare since this has Council and it's been another few months.

HoloEN feels like 5 acquittances just put together who sort of hang around each sometimes, and NijiEN, or rather certain groups in NijiEN, feel like a friend group. Sometimes you have awkward convos in NijiEN between two people that don't talk often, or like between Petra and anyone, or Ethyria and the other members, but HoloEN just feels like that all the time. I don't know if it's because Elira+Pomu fill up dead air, Elira/Selen just constantly know when to bring stuff up, or they're just more willing to talk about anything, but it's way more comfortable. Another thing is how much each individual Holo focuses on the chat even in larger collabs, you constantly see each one reading chat and responding to that, or making comments directed at chat rather than just talking to each other. No one calls out awkward shit either without making it more awkward. Honestly, Sana feels the most like "I'm trying to make this more friendly", while Mumei is just like Myth.

gura likely signed up to the cool rebel idol group from early 2020, at that time holo wasnt as strict and they got popular because of them being fun and could bantz.
the company enforcement policy stuff changed rapidly around the time of holoen's debut, and if gura didnt like it she was kinda stuck to keep going with it because contracts and likely feeling indebted to the new found popularity she gained.

It would be great if they're more relax with their commentary but they aren't. Cover is taking advantage of this by making it as appealing as possible to advertisers. Why else there's seems to be a lot of sponsored streams. Either voice your opinion to the talents and Cover about your problems or just move on. I was so deep into HoloEN just months ago but thankfully, Lazulight opened my eyes. Unfortunately, NijiEN isn't doing well because HoloEN still has the monopoly for the EN audience on Youtube. Cover is pretty smart for forbidding collabs with NijiEN to maintain the status quo.
