Besides the change in demographics in vt/jp compared to a year ago, the first time Mori was on TT the situation was slightly different.
She was still pretty new and people didn't quite knew what to make of her (or the whole HoloEN thing). One fear, however, was that EN vtubers wouldn't really care about this whole vtuber thing and use this opportunity to collab with popular ecelebs, ignoring for the most part their senpais and each other. So, when Mori appeared on the podcast, many feared that was exactly what was happening, with predictable results. It didn't help that the early Myth collabs were ankward as fuck, as that only highlited the fear that Mori probably prefers the company of anitubers then that of her fellow genmates.
Now however we know that is not the case, her chemistry with anyone in Hololive is the best it has ever been and the TT episode was recorded during October, one of the strongest months in her entire vtubing carrer (if this came out in, say, June you would have seen much, much worse shitposting) . So there is generally less to be worried about, and the genetal perception seem to be that even if you don't like it you can simply ignore it and it will be fine, as it's not the start of a trend.

If you ask me, because chuubas are now mainstream.
