I've got a high quality 3d model in the works, I'm very excited about that. I'll get things like logos and overlay stuff sorted as I go. My top priority was always to see if I enjoyed streaming, and to see if I could be engaging as a streamer, making content that people enjoyed. Since I'm doing an alright job at that (I think/hope!) I'll be adding the rest of the window dressing going forward.

As far as getting what I want out of streaming, I think I am getting what I wanted. I wanted to share my niche interests with larger audiences, and especially audiences who may not know much about those things. Seeing people stepping out of their comfort zones for things like the vtuber choir makes me very happy, so streaming has brought me a lot of satisfaction so far.

I'll look into the TikTok stuff, since I've got an idea that could be fun. I could do something like have three parts of a quartet (three of me) and ask people to sing the melody. Doom clips could be fun, too, especially instant karma type ones. I'll do some looking into what kinds of clips are popular. I'm sure singing stuff is a pretty safe bet. Thanks anon!

Choral stuff is great. I tend to dislike large collaborations but I think group singing or things where you don't need to pay attention to any one person it ends up working real well.

Those are great ideas! But I also think you showing off some interesting WADS and maps could pick up interest all on their own. That one map with max enemies could be an interesting hook for younger people not familiar with old doom.
If that one anon is right about the fact that with proper tagging the discovery algorithm works that well on tiktok. Looking through that thread of what that anon said had some good food for thought.

Yes, I find it very interesting that he incorporates his health into his vtubing. Very smart, too! People need different sources of motivation, and it can push you to do different things. When I was struggling to decide on a design or make a model, watching other vtubers would give me the motivation to push through the frustration. Without that, I would have gotten too angry at how hard learning all those things at once were and given up!

What're your thoughts on the streamer mentioning their subscriptions/money?

Just listening to Hilentsu, and she says "Thanks for the subscription, that supports me financially", and I've seen others (often GFE) say "thanks for helping me pay rent".

But then I see some say "Don't worry about subscribing, I'm an adult with a job, anything that comes in through this is getting re-invested"

Obviously, if a streamer says "Thanks for the sub, but guys, you don't have to at all, don't worry about giving me your money", that's gonna put me off. But if they say "I need this money, I can't pay rent if we don't hit the sub goal", then my default is to also refuse, because there's other jobs out there that don't have the volatility. If you can't stomach the risk, don't become a self-employed artist and complain about it.

Sound alerts can be fun, though personally I find more customized ones are preferable to the defaults and overused ones. Sometimes chat can get the timing right and make for free content. I think anon's problem was with TTS that activate at 1bit so you'd have people spamming that shit to get noticed. Personally I don't think TTS has a place in a stream at all, but sound alerts are fine by me.

Do you get shinsplits? I used to get those and I had to just push through. No idea what causes them but I guess they tend to go away after you get used to it. Most people (especially after 25-30) do not realize how weak their hearts are/can get, so I really do suggest cardio if you can get through that pain barrier.

It might help to start with walking, honestly. I could only walk at one point and would just pace around my house until I was strong enough to jog. Every little bit helps condition you. There is also couch to 5k but I never tried that myself.
