Gaming skill and charisma are probably the most important parts though. A girl can get carried simply by being cute, she can suck at the game and be clumsy and it will just be cute to their audience but guys don't get that benefit.
That's why a lot of the notable successful male vtubers are pretty good at games and it helps a lot to carve out a specific niche in one game and be pro at it.
Also leech a lot of girls, sounds shitty to say but male vtubers don't have the same appeal to draw a crowd as girls do, so hang out with girls and you will get at least some people to look your way and add to your audience.
