You have no idea how happy I am right now dude. I just realized this myself tonight during Mori and Irys's Jump King collab. My life has been nowhere near the best emotionally, mostly bland really. But hearing these two friends being nornal people and having a fun talk together awakened something in my heart that's been sleeping for years. I feel this pureness, this optimism about life that I haven't felt since I was a child in elementary school. I'm really happy vtubers are a thing now. I'm taking small steps to get my life into better and better places. But as for psychological pain, I've started to stop punishing myself. Emo kids cut and I use sleep deprivation to hurt myself. Whenever there is a late night zatsudan, I love to watch a bit of it, then leave it playing, turn off my PC and go to sleep "early" (at 3am) and imagine they're still cozily talking to each other as I drift off. There's something really comforting about going to sleep while people are having a cozy talk in the other room.

There's also something to be said about how the military sends recruiters to high schools in the US. You can even get further inured to the military by joining ROTC before you're old enough to actually serve. They specifically prey on poor and impressionable people. I can't get out of this country soon enough; I don't want to raise a family here.
