11612789 No.11612789 [Reply] [Original]

I thought Anycolor didn't give them any financial support or a salary or anything and in exchange they get to do their own thing without management constantly having to breathe down their necks and tell them what they can and can't say like Cover. What's this about having to "submit a schedule"? I thought they had freedom.

>> No.11613228

>>11612789
there's a difference between having creative freedom and being expected to be consistent - in this case in a very minor form of output

if anything it's actually a good rule since it keeps output structured and consistent in a way that makes it possible for the company to grow because it can highlight and plan around what events to hype or push and it can organise rights and or other background prerequisites before stream. Plus being able to push schedules out on Sunday for every talent means they can consistently pitch to new and returning viewers with a guarantee of consistent and timed output.

Hololive is unironically held back by its talents inability to produce a schedule sometimes until midweek, it's just that the effect is counteracted to some extent by their mass popularity

if management should unironically push their talents to do ONE thing, it's this

I suspect having a schedule is a requirement added for EN, very few other nijichuuba actually bothered to keep up with making them until nijiEN launched and started posting them every week. I imagine they wanted to keep EN on rails a bit compared to other branches to play it safe while they try to enter a new market.

>> No.11613676

So management knows what to expect. Having to submit a schedule doesn't mean the schedule has to be packed or even filled, I don't think.

God forbid NijiEN have someone who brings in views and money whenever she decides to stream I guess?

was she refering to submitting a schedule to staff or did she mean she needed to post it for the viewers.
either way its likely they have staff check over the schedules anyway in case something comes up or there was miscommunication about permissions or whatever.
i dont know why them having to submit the schedule for staff to look at is somehow removing their freedoms, they can still guerrilla if they really want to

Pomu took off like two weeks for her breast reduction surgery or whatever it was which Cover NEVER would have let HoloEN do that early in her career so clearly it's still not THAT restrictive.

Yeah I imagine the failure of Niji India kind of colored their overall strategy which is why the talents have more support but are expected more of due to that.

I think it's just so management can be certain they have permissions and try to get them if they don't, and avoid having to reschedule streams or collabs. They've had to reschedule a few streams the last few weeks because of tech difficulties, games not having an online component (snipperclips), or permissions issues (RE4) so I think it's just to make sure they don't have to change their plans last minute or whatever

What's up with RE4 and permissions issues? Hasn't Selen already been playing it? Is Capcom fucked up in the brain or something that you have to keep getting their permission to continue streaming it?

She said she was only allowed to show the first ten minutes but would just keep going until someone told her off and at worst she'd delist the VODs. They have permission to play in Japanese but IIRC there's some kinda problem where the english voice acting needs to be cleared by the VA guild and they couldn't reach an agreement.

I think they just did that with the EN branch. It sucks for them, but they have no choice but to grind since if you aren't Holo it is scaling up a cliff. Hence why Niji EN might be bound to things that Niji JP isn't bound to. All the other small corpos do this as well.

I think it's something more fucked like they have to play a Japanese version/copy of the game.

i feel like the reason IN failed is that noor was basically the only one who could stream alot of the time and they never added anyone to be more consistent.
theres also the fact india doesnt have a large enough weeb population to be into vtubers.

Shit, maybe Nijisanji actually does have a lot of freedom if she has the balls to do that without worrying about getting fired. That seems like exactly the kind of thing that would piss Capcom off so hard they'd never let her stream one of their games again.

You are either shitposting, or you are delusional if you think AnyColor doesn't have a list of things you can, or can't say. Heck, IIRC, NijiJP even confirmed that before (although I can't remember which member and I'm too lazy to look for it, so take it with a grain of salt)

At the very least it seems like Niji doesn't have a manager sitting there watching the stream at all times so that they can leap in at a moment's notice and stop them from saying things that aren't allowed. That already gives them more freedom than Hololive.

RE4's VAs (or at least some of them) are in a Union who have more power over the Western release of the game.

Selen is probably banking on a RE4 Remake so they don't have to deal with negotiations with a USA union.

Because they are the beginning of the EN branch. JP branch was like that too in the beginning with a reccommended weekly schedule. Now that it floats on its own it's fine that Mito doesn't stream much or Rin! spams 80 hours of B4B or Kenmochi fucks off for a week.
When EN can stand on its own and has more members you'll see people either reducing streams, or not since they like streaming.
