They did Without U for her first album, which was an amazing track, and a bunch of songs, both 2hu and some originals with nayuta, so I have high hopes. AZKi mentioned that she found writing a harmony particularly challenging when talking about the song in a member's post, but she did a great job with that SorAZ song she wrote.

Seems like she's giving her colleagues some chance to grow. Not sure if retweets alone are enough to pull and share the audience as Himitsu didn't reach her goal.
She also tweeted horses days before she became sick conveniently coinciding with Kano's endurance stream which provides room for doubt for her fever. The throat however I believe as the bee participated in the event and did multiple guerillas in the same week.

Yea, and all of her collabs have been on other people's channels except the one Golden Week one with Ruri. She hasn't even done an internal duet cover in the modern era, which is why I seriously doubt that management is doing anything at the moment either. And if you want to be pedantic, Enna isn't comfortable working in the lower parts of her range as shown by how how off she sounds during at the start of Gurenge, where she sounds very squished as she's trying to go lower then she can. She's also a tad nasally on the belts that follow at 34:50ish and again at 35:35ish, which is especially problematic for that type of song since it's all about the power behind the notes. In addition, her falsetto at 36:00 when she goes to extend her range is a very rough transition. At 36:15 she completely flubs the note, but she does good a job of recovering. She then completely gives up at 36:30, and her voice cracks at 36:41. She then fucks up yet again at 36:51, and shows off how rough her falsetto is when going through the following chorus at 36:55, with it happening back to back. She also doesn't go for the hold at 37:05, instead aborting out early on the most iconic part of the song. At this point, she straight up says that she's not practiced on the non anime-OP parts of it, and I'm not going to bother finishing out pointing out the problems. I'm sure I could nitpick more about the other songs if I wanted to go back and listen to them again. Of course, all this doesn't mean that she's not a good singer and I wouldn't enjoy listening to her, but let's not pretend like she's some gift from God and you're not just being a contrarian fuck who doesn't respect IRyS because of her being in Hololive.

As in singing it well. Chima wasn't the first of hololive or nijisanji to sing opera, but when she did she blew people away. A lot of vsingers, such as Shiki (who is a very good singer), have sung Lilium, for instance, but they invariably sing it like other pop songs, while Chima uses proper operatic techniques and you just know you are hearing the real thing.

Same thing here for Enna. I went back and compared her rendition with that of Hachi, Mair, Watame, Kanata, Hayase Sou and others. Only Enna gives a semblance to traditional singing. Listen to where Enna sang the climactic "yama ga moeru" (around 1:17 of the song).

That is a very delicious sound you will rarely ever hear in modern pop, but is the staple of traditional Asian music, including Vietnamese, Chinese, and Korean music.

Of course, this doesn't mean Enna is as great a general singer as Hachi (most certainly not), and Hachi probably didn't spend as much time looking into enka singing. But among vsingers, what she did there was historic, and even laypeople who don't know anything about kobushi could tell how different she sounds.

None are ever going to be perfectly flawless, and that's certainly okay, no one is even amongst the biggest mainstream singers, especially when doing live singing without any audio engineers around to help like during a karaoke stream. People talking about why they like or dislike certain singing, however, isn't inherently pointless since it can give you a greater appreciation for what's being done and something to listen, as well allowing people to say if you like X, you might like Y because they're similar. It only really becomes a problem when it stops being a discussion, or even a well presented criticism, and starts just being lazy shitposting about how X is bad. However, while few of the people talked about in this thread are reaching those limits, there is an inherent limit to everyone's ability in that you can't train a wider range then your voice can go, for example, just practice to be able to more accurately use what you have, since your sound is going to inherently change when you use a falsetto. Certain aspects of singing are very much a gift of God thing, even if you can probably sing 99% of the popular songs without being particularly blessed.

Straight overall comparisons are sometimes possible when there is a big gap, like Amelia and Suisei. But among the top vsingers, it is overly reductionist and pointless to make a broad comparison like "Hachi is a better singer than Chima", when they can do different things better. Yet, when you make the comparison more specific, like a certain song or genre, then a better picture emerges, and people can learn the differences between singers, as well as what they like. For instance, Chima is good at ballads, but perhaps not the best at fast generic jpop (e.g. Seikan Hikou).

Singers also don't grow that fast. Marine and Watame have done a lot of singing, but their pitch control problems are kinda still there.

Neither of them take karaoke very seriously, which is a fine mentality if you're up front about it. Watame didn't have any problems doing her Live, until she ran out of stamina because she's a hikki who lives on potato chips, and the fact we could hear that degradation suggests to me that it was both not prerecorded nor heavily handled by audio processing. She also did a good job during Fes, even if that was just a handful of songs. Marine's only ever really done group songs, or Ahoy, during important events that she was serious for, which makes it harder to judge since Ahoy isn't a particularly flashy song. I did like her duet with Kanata of Uchiage Hanabi during the latter's 3D, but they also managed to make everyone on that stage sound decent so who knows how much of that was studio magic and multiple takes. Here, since you don't seem to be able to read things, anon, highlighted the important part of that post disagreeing with the one it's quoting. Some people tend to attack each note individually rather then having a smooth continuous voice, and she seems to fall in the former camp. You can hear her let up for just a millisecond when she's enunciating a word and has to change notes, which is a great indicator of that.

I didn't care to repond to this earlier but you're wrong. At least learn what words mean before trying to police people. Power represents volume and resonance represents boosted harmonics. Again you fail at reading comprehension so much. He didn't write the latter parts to contradict his definition of power = volume. Rather, he denies that singing with volume is easy. He tells people not to naively push their vocal cords and shows people proper techniques to achieve volume instead. Stop assuming a writer would contradict oneself after one sentence. Especially when that sentence is written in bold for emphasis. That is the next level of denial. I believe I spend half the time trying to explain how you fail at reading comprehension while you think nobody else knows about music.
Vocal power is a singer’s ability to sing at a loud volume or dynamic. If you just push for more volume, you could end up straining your voice or yelling. Those statements are written in bold, and not refuted.

The relationship between resonance and power singing is vertical, not horizontal. You implied Chima is more advanced than she actually is. She still stays at resonance level, she has not stepped yet into power singing.
That's the natural progression after learning resonance. In the Chris Liepe video, he doesn't even spoon feed you again about resonance. Neither does that Matt Ramsey when he explained power.
Both focused on breath and (glottis) muscle.
