It really depends on who the streamer is. Kson was already insanely popular and then got gently pushed out of Hololive by a management that put retarded restrictions on her and stopped or crippled her most popular featured streams like Asacoco (stopped) or meme review (heavily restricted).

This sense of "the world is out to get us" ended up creating a very tight bond between her and her fans and many of them followed her out the door, so she's been able to ride that to continued financial success to the point where she's likely making even more money now than she did with Hololive.

Miko used to be a 2-digit viewership back in like 2018. I was fucking there, before everything, before the nigga incident viraling. She had like 50 viewers. I remember first realizing vtubers were interesting vs anime due to that stream, because you see that bit of humanity in them like (very moe) sneezes etc and actual emotions, things that are always polished clean away from dictated scripts in muh animu. I 'member. The only other Holos that old that are still relevant are others who hardly ever miss a beat like Fubuki. Mel, Chammers, Choco etc all fell by the wayside with low output, they didn't put in the effort to catch up nor to adapt when problems arose like new YT regulations and Chama's school (although I can't really blame her for that).

I can say Mumei starting out this low to begin with is kind of fucking incredibly bad. Ayame used to be more consistent, Gen 2 used to actually feel like a real thing instead of Shuba and Aqua, etc. Starting this bad = actual-Ayame-status aka 1 stream every two weeks to a bunch of starved people who unreasonably remain membered to her in hopes of encouraging her to stream more looks inevitable, unless she wraps up school, realizes that whatever job she was aiming for is going to pay less than she was already making and just goes balls to wall streamer. Even if Holo went belly up just having this clout and fanbase = you can reincarnate over and over probably indefinitely for decades and failing that get roles in voice acting or something eventually. She won a lotto ticket and is pretending she didn't still.
