Redstone is used for making minecraft "wiring" so you can get automatic or semi automatic devices. Apply this and you can make all kinds of secret doors, traps, and mazes. Viewers will rrat these out eventually, so another possibility is simply making a maze big enough that its just too tedious to get through.
An infinite room is a room with no discernible details. Its a pure white sensory deprivation room. Combine it with a maze and theres no way to know how to get through it unless yoy know the maze by heart, or destroy it

So redstone can send a signal to paths made of redstone to remotely operate objects by sending a signal to it.

So step on a switch pressure plate and it'll send an ON signal to the path and it can remotely do something due to to the signal powering something.

Let's look at our powered railway we see in the EN server. When you push the button it sends an ON signal to the rail which powers it and thus launches the cart due to being directly on it.

Now if you wanted to launch the cart remotely you have the block attached to a line of redstone powder and a switch on the other end. Push switch and the circuit lights up and Cart launches.

You can see the use of redstone repeaters in the JP server with Botan's light up sign which switches between which parts are lit up on a regular basis it's because the repeaters when getting an ON signal will send it down the path after a set amount of time. So Botan has a few of them set for different times so the lights keep cycling on and off.

These dupe setups are mainly developed for 2B2T, this legendary minecraft server that 4chan made popular. They've had to add tons of patches and plugins to the server to stop the dupes, and it never works. There's always another dupe.
