I'm saying that your conceptualization of "underdog" is meaningless and contrarian.
Kiara doesn't come across as an underdog for much the same reason as, say, Cirno doesn't. Sure, they may both be underdogs in a very literal sense (lower subs than most of her gen mates for the former or being a lowly fairy for the later), but their cocky attitudes and inflated egos completely undermine the "underdog" angle and makes their suffering feel somewhat justified (it also helps when setbacks don't really seem to affect them.)
If I had to name someone in EN that actually embodies the underdog more sincerely, I'd say it's Amelia. She's kind of a loser who feels the least qualified of the ENs, but it's that diamond in the rough charm that makes her endearing and relatable.

Criticism that comes from someone that hears about Kiara, but doesn't actually watch her, since these are non-issues to anyone that actually watches because its doesn't happen as much as people try to think it does. Though the "shitty" gameplay is more complicated, Kiara isn't a good gamer, but watching her can be entertaining. Fighting the final boss of Ryza while underleveled was quite fun to watch and an "shitty" achievement of its own, but she took the challenge.

One of the secondary reasons is competition, plenty of HoloID fans are taking things too far because she kind of stepped in the way of PekoMoona at one point.

It's a little gaudy. I don't hate it personally, but it's one of the lesser designs in Hololive because it tries too hard to do too much.

Like her outfit, she kind of tries too hard to be appealing, and it ends up having the opposite effect. It doesn't read as genuine enthusiasm or passion - but an attempt to mimic the success of her senpai. Of course, I don't think she's really like that, but how it comes across matters. I also personally think she's mediocre as far as Hololive goes in mostly every category. She's not the awful leeching nobody people make her out to be, but she's also not that great - and given how every other EN member stands out (and in fact how Hololive in general has a high bar for talent) the contrast just doesn't make her look good.

Calli is cringe, but in a good way. It's her niche, and her awkwardness always reads as completely genuine. Personally I can't get past it enough to watch her content, but I think she fills her niche well and stands out as someone worth watching if you like that style.
