With that said, the odds of Selen ever trumping 3.5 million subs are probably non-existant, as the only two vtubers to achieve it had everything going for them. Ai exploded as the iconic og. Gura exploded as the iconic face of English vtubing. They were viral phenomena.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if yellow bitch eventually started creeping up on gura in terms of view time, vod views, live viewers, supa earnings, merch sales and sponsorships. Gura owing her popularity to virality is her weakness, while Selen's strength is that she's built herself up through effort and endurance. Purple dragon is a stronger person, stronger gamer, and even a stronger streamer. If she could last 4 years as a literal who, she can outlast the blue shark once the company starts rolling out support for her in the form of tie ins and 3D.

Nijisanji EN is currently where the smart money is, just because there appears to be far more growth potential.

She's entertaining for a while but it gets kind of old. Her model looks kind of fucking weird, it's cute but the little winglets are just odd, and it looks not far from every other vtuber out there while Gura looks/sounds distinctive in a good way. As an overall commentary on the vtubing scene I wonder how much growth is left in vtubing as a whole. How many more people are there who can jump onboard who aren't already here? The only place I see major growth coming from are the people currently watching hololive or vshoujo. My take is once they're done with what they're watching they're gonna feel that they're bored of vtubing as a whole and quit, regardless of if they'd like the nijis or some other vtubers. Just look how Niji/Holo viewers treat eachother here, no way they'd jump ship to the other.

I agree that Nijisanji has the most potential growth but what remains to be seen is if there is anywhere for that growth the come from. Selen is a great start but I think the Nijis are gonna need more people with better appeal before you can start thinking about them sucking viewers from the holos and others.
