There must be some weird copyright situation with it. Technically Kurokami is probably some sort of plagiarism of the Fubuki design created by FBK herself. I'm not going to pretend to know shit about the contracts between the artists and cover, but I wonder whether or not Mito has to be contractually involved as an artist or consultant in any ongoing modification of his designs or some bullshit like that. Speaking of post-processing. I'm not sure, if I liked it much. I already said, it took a bit of the unique voice characteristics. Fubuki used her voice different in every song. Just listen again to the first three songs. The songs are different and so is Fubuki using her voice. But overall she doesn't sound to different from what I know.
I noticed it most on Mio. If I wouldn't see who was singing there, I wouldn't easily recognize her. I compared it with a song from her birthday and I noticed that Fubuki's birthday is missing some volume. It sounds a bit flat and less powerful. And she didn't had the chance to do the extra sexy moves.
Korone's voice sounds very little edited and for Okayu I'm not sure. Probably because I don't know her singing in such a high pitch.
Fubuki has an outstanding choice of songs: Fast, powerful, pitched and of course happy and some of the usual pop songs. Mio likes slower ballads, Korone is similar to Fubuki, but doesn't prefer songs with pitched voice. Finally Okayu is more with Mio's style and usually sings in a lower and slower pitch. Pretty wild mix, but clearly chosen by Fubuki.
As already said on the previous thread: From technical perspective a clear improvement. Lightning, blur effects, smooth models with less glitching, merged recordings so Fubuki and Kuro could sing together...

I'm not sure about the choreography. It looks a bit chaotic and freestyle. You can see how Mio jump behind Ayame and Fubuki during Ayame's part and ran back to her position when Fubuki starting singing again.
But much more impressive was the performance of Kuro and Fubuki. They were not synchronized and danced in their own styles. Only between the repeating German words "Feuer! Sperrfeuer! Los! Achtung! Deckung! Hinlegen! Halt!", Kuro moved her leg while Fubuki moved her arm.
I'm not sure, if she just doesn't care about a choreography because she could have practically use the same moves with the littler alteration to show some combination, but each Kuro and Fubuki did different movements with their arms. Still impressive how both had a different style like shown in the image. Kuro was just standing there and with a little movement in her leg and watched Fubuki. That's just cool.

It's a Fubuki server, sure, but it doesn't feel like it's run by people who care about Fubuki. The invite links are gone and they explicitly stated that there will no longer be official projects organized by the server (such as things for Fubuki's anniversaries, Birthday, etc.). If a project is to be made, one or more of the users will have to take care of the organization and everything about it.
It's the first time I ever see a VTuber fan server to turn into such a shithole.
At this point it's nothing more than a closed community of people who happen to watch Fubuki but will no longer bother with making things for her "officially".

The whole concert was prerecorded. She announced it before and was livetweeting and commenting in chat while it was going on. It was probably recorded in two takes and motion data and sound tracks were merged in post.

If it wasn't a computer generated space, you would simply record the scene twice with out moving the camera and merge the images afterwards. The same actor can be on the left or right side. This only works well, if you have full control on the scene especially the lighting of the scene, because otherwise you would see the seam between both scenes.
In case of the concert, you have the full control over the scene, but it's completely irrelevant here since the whole show takes place in a virtual space.
Either Kuro or Shirakami sang and danced first and then they did the same with the other character. Just keep in mind, that the cameras are used to track the active markers which are placed all over the actors body. The output is motion data, so basically data about where every marker was at a time. You map it on a skeleton and give it skin and as result you'll get a 3D character with realistic human movement - in t his case dancing.
The stage is probably something the Unity engine would call "level" and if you insert the two recordings and synchronize them, you'll receive the outcome we saw.
I guess out of convenience they also used the audio from the recording to avoid having lip sync issues and the microphones they use seem to be fine for that. It should be pretty easy for a singer to keep the same beat for a song. If you watch some compilations where different holos sang the same song, you can see, that they their singing overlaps perfectly fine unless someone adds some talk or so into the song.
Of course, you could have simply played the scene with another actor, but watch the complete show again and keep an eye about where the characters are standing. Los! Los! Los! was the only song, where nobody walks around and they spared out any interaction between the characters. The guests where moving around a lot and when Fubuki was alone, she walked around.
Motion capturing is an interesting technology and there are many behind the scenes videos on Youtube explaining and showing how acting in today's film industry works.

That's a stupid thing to say, that is basically just copy and pasting and syncing up an additional layer of motion data on top of the already existing one from the first take, not a lot of additional work. Cover isn't as lazy and incompetent as that, their 3D lives have gotten much, much, much better lately ever since they moved towards entirely prerecorded stuff, pretty sure their post-processing guys know what they are doing these days. As the other anon above said, you can easily tell that's how they did it by the dance choreography. Both Fubuki and Kurokami stayed on their side of the stage, barely moved around and never interacted with one another in order to not interfere with each other so everything looks clean when the motion data is merged later. It looked great and was the highlight of the show for me for sure.

I don't have any experience with that software, but I can imagine, it's not much more effort. Fubuki sings the song twice, does the opposite dance and the 3D artist adds both characters to the scene, just as if there was another real character.
Cover is constantly improving. Compare 2019's birthday stream with the 2021's one. That's a huge improvement. It's not like the technique isn't available, they just have to learn how to use it properly and build up their framework. You can even see, how the editor/director uses the diagonal cut between two or more camera angels very often lately. It's just a "seen overseen" detail, but it pays into the final product.

You're right. The song was made for the game. All Hololive songs are a joy to play in Groove coaster except for Mori's song Excuse My Rudeness, But Could You Please RIP. It's already very difficult on the hard level because of the many triple taps. I'm not very skilled, but its one of the few hard level 9 songs, where I'm not able to get at least an S rank, even if I may miss 10 beats. But it's also not my preferred music and I don't like the whole stage. I just played it a few times, because I erroneously thought Fubuki was in the VTuber 2 DLC and tried to complete the missions for it.

Yeah, I really liked the three way cuts they kept doing in the Ayame/Mio part especially, they looked really good. It'd be hard if not impossible to do if it was live. I don't actually think being live adds anything to the finished product anyway, I'd take the production value and polish that these prerecorded events have these days over that any day. Especially because the vast majority of the real lives weren't fully live anyway, it was fairly obvious that the middle parts tended to be prerecorded segments so the performers could take a breather because singing and dancing for an hour is fucking impossible for these nerds that sit on their butts 90% of the day for the most part. You can't really authentically prerecord these without it feeling like a massive scam, so I wonder what they are going to do. Holofest and Bloom looked pretty bad compared to what we have now, I hope we don't go back to that level of quality.

I don't know about leader, but whenever I ask anyone about Hololive, Fubuki is always the one they think of first. So I don't know about leader, but rom what I've seen, she definitely seems to be the face. And for me she's a lot more than that.
The funny clips were things she does on a whim. I don't know why she hasn't done one for a while, but I guess there's just not something she's found interesting or funny to do.

It's an obvious bait post but I won't deny that some elements of it are not wrong. She has mellowed down a bit and stepped a way from the center of attention - the face or leader as some would say. But that doesn't mean she is burned output, rather the opposite, I'd say. It's quite clear that she was never all that comfortable in that position and she has actively tried to groom and mentor a successor in Marine, that is the entire point of the radio show, if you listen to the earlier episodes it's easy to see that they didn't know each other all that well from the beginning and only formed their Friendship through the show to begin with. FBK never wanted to be a leader and only arrived in that position by circumstance, unlike more recent hires that were already big before FBK was a nobody streamer that just happened to make Hololive's popularity rise dramatically. She is still a major feature of Hololive but she doesn't MC every single major sponsorship or official channel stream anymore. She's not that ambitious, she stated on multiple occasions that she is glad to no longer be number one and that she was happy for Korone, Gura and everyone else that came after them. In fact, if you watch her current content I think it's quite obvious that she is much more comfortable than before. She does just go with he flow and does whatever she wants to these days - and that's a good thing. I feel like she is having a lot more fun streaming now and does some brilliant and funny streams once in a while. But sometimes she just wants to do a normal stream and just play a game she wants to play, regardless of whether it will do good numbers or not. She doesn't care about that anymore, she is fine with the way things are. She has a very loyal fan base that allow her to stream that way, something she has definitely come to appreciate through the shit that happened within the past year. I can't read her thoughts obviously but I get the impression thay she is having more fun than ever with her new found freedom to do whatever she wants.

As for collabs, the chink threat is still a thing. Fubuki is typically Japanese in the sense that she hates the thought of other people being bothered by her actions (or existence in this case) so she tries to keep to her close circle because she knows they don't resent her for the spam in the chat. She doesn't go and seek out new collab partners unless they specifically ask her because she doesn't want the chinks to harass them instead because the chins know FBK herself doesn't care if they do it to herself. All of her off-channel TRPG collabs have been in member only for a year now, they forgot once a few months ago and it was a constant torrent of spam. So she tries her best to avoid these kind of situations.

She probably also doesn't do that many clips anymore because a large part of her old ones had to get privated because of copyright, maybe she just didn't have a lot of ideas that work that won't give her a strike. Creativity ebbs and flows sometimes.

Well-put, friend. Thank you for adding to my response. I knew it was a bait and I knew I shouldn't have responded, but it didn't sit well with me to keep quiet, so I wrote the blog post.

I agree with everything that you've said. I'm just glad that Fubuki is having fun and that she keeps streaming. Despite the collabs not being frequent and all that, I'm sure she still has great relationship with everyone (or mostly everyone, I'd assume). I hope it stays that way.
I just want her and everyone around her to be happy.

I'm sure she has a lot of fun! Look at the rare times she does organize something, she puts in a huge amount of effort and pays a lot of attention to the production value whenever it happens. She hired the artist of these Sukonbu OraNatsu noodles to draw custom pictures of every one in the Gartic Phone collab which was mostly comprised out of people she doesn't collab with all that frequently. In this case though, she wanted to make a collab centered around Aqua so she invited all of the people she can easily talk to because she is.. quite special. She also put in a huge effort for her TRPG stream and even hired Oinari-Sensei for the art of that one, too. She also said she is going to do a second round with different members soon, so we might see her branch out of her comfort zone again (unless she invited Gamers or SENPAITACHI which isn't that unlikely). And lastly, her Birthday concert was of unprecedented production quality and she also commissioned custom art for all the guests. And even for stuff she doesn't organize herself, she is clearly having lots of fun and gets along well with almost everyone, the mixer part in the recent Mario Kart tournament was really fun because we got some interaction with people like Suisei with which she doesn't usually hang out. I have no doubt that she is telling the truth when she says she absolutely loves Hololive and is happy to be a part of it.

The freedom to sit back and take things as they come and do what she wants at her own pace. When she used to be cover's number one talent and the face of the company all eyes were on her and she was under a lot of pressure. She had to do a lot more mandatory PR and sponsorship stuff. Now that she has faded a bit in the background she gets to go about her job how she wants to and it clearly shows that this arrangement is preferable for her.

I don't consider permissions that much of an impediment on their freedom, there are so many video games to play out there that they have permission for that not being able to play a bunch of them isn't that big of a deal. We are way past the beginning of the permission arc where there were only like five games in total they could play. Also I'm pretty sure they have permissions for Dead Space anyway, I think Botan played it a few months ago. FBK mentions wanting to play a lot of games, but there is obviously not enough time for the amount of choice they have.

Angering a swarm of angry bugs by supporting a friend is not the same thing as causing direct trouble for your own friends and colleagues. Even if she'd probably prefer to keep everyone happy, she clearly had her priorities straight in this matter when she took a stance.
