Hololive asking you to put aside >7hrs of your time whilst they make a 'marathon' of debuts is way too much, and pretty much all of them had to fill or draw out dead air to meet the 1hr-ish stream time. People who aren't really built for that like Mumei suffered a lot for it.

Having a quick 25min debut relay, followed by an interview with existing members, followed by a full 1-hour 'Debut 2.0' the next day is pretty respectful of your time whilst also giving you the initial 'punch' of their personalities alone and with the other members.

I also think that the 'cringe' you get from Hololive debuts is from the fact that few of them have streamed before and are still finding themselves. As long as the others don't completely fail (to the extent of reverting to 2views), it's easy to keep those chuubas around after they've established the foundation.
For example, /vt/ tend to laugh at Petra's number, but I'm pretty sure she is more than profitable enough even if her numbers are cut by half.
