As for how/why, the meme is "nepotism", but there's something to it. Ethnic asians still have preserved more racial consciousness and ingroup preference (compared to white women, especially young white women, who have mostly been successfully trained by the globohomo to abhor it), and thus have less compunctions to form cliques and network each other into beneficial positions for themselves.
You can see this development in HoloEN, gen1 had only one ethnic asian, gen2 is already majority ethnic asians, and gee I wonder what gen3 will be, probably all asians. Niji"EN" is already fully riced.
To be fair, I'm not even saying this is a "bad" thing per se, from a pure entertainment standpoint for the audience anyway. By and large, white women are, through various faults of their own, simply less fitting to play the role of a cute anime girl, whereas ethnic asians by and large are more "reliable" and willing/able to play the part that is expected of them without deviating too much from the script due to their higher natural affinity and familiarity to anime culture in general, so they make for "safer" talents.

Canada has no national identity, they hate themselves, their government is radicals who want multiculturalism at all costs. So the only thing that unites Canadians is "not being american". This underscoring attitude has caused canadians to focus more on being social, accepting of hobbies, and taking a different relationship to greed.

Basically Canadians are more human than Americans. This humanity sparks curiousity in Americans who have none of it; they watch these streams and hear about the lives of streamers who have these bright pasts where they played tabletop DND with their friends, passionately watched anime, spent actual meaningful time with others, etc. It's curious because it's hard to find this in America, where most people just talk without listening, play beer pong, and go to work to buy low-quality things they don't need.

Canadians spark so much curiosity in Americans because they are what America isn't.
