Since I was an idiot and analyzed the song in a bait thread here’s my thoughts on Sissy.
I think it’s more about loneliness, friendship, and regret. Specifically around the idea of being afraid of love between friends.
The song itself is split into three sections the first tackling self-loathing, the second dwelling on it, and the third wanting to make things right. The first section can be read pretty clearly and is probably referencing his song Game of Dice.
The second section is a lot vaguer and is coming from Takefuji not Ao anyway, but the idea and subject it goes over, friction caused by ignoring budding feelings is still important.
The third section is especially interesting and could probably have a dedicated analysis on its own in my opinion it’s referencing Mori leaving her indie friend group to join an agency and Live again. Where she’s started a new chapter in her life separate from that group without much warning (Mori admitted this herself) and now Ao feels stuck im the last chapter unable to move on as he realizes her true importance to him.
As for the hook which is its own can of worms, I feel it’s a bit mistranslated so let me put it here:
