NijiEN getting 4k viewers isn't a particularly big deal for them. There's been many streams that break that if it's something the chuuba is hyped for or some big buff game. But looking at the numbers for the group collab and comparing them to recent ones they do seem to be growing. I think back in their first wave they were attracting maybe 4k viewers when they got everyone together for one but the two they did this week we're more like 6-8k peak numbers I think.

It's a pretty good thing to have more variety in streamers if you like vtubers as a whole and not just Hololive. I've been watching since debut, they definitely inclined shortly before and immediately after Obsydia debut and then numbers dropped quite a lot after Councils debuts for about 2 weeks. The screenshot of them all overlapping with sub-1k viewers for example was definitely a low point that they've somewhat recovered from. The baseline hololive audience is about 10k. They'll get more, or less, but in general that's what you can expect. Nijisanji is around 1k, but recently has increased to 1.5k, or even 2k.

Nijien has existed since may and is slowly inclining with time, with several more waves planned (including males). Holoen has existed for over a year and recently launched 6 new holos, but over time is reclining after the hype dies off. Nijien's slow incline+hype from another 14 estimated streamers added over the next year will end up growing their audience in the long run while holoen will probably decline. I don't think Nijien's peak will be as high as holoen's peak, it's more that holoen benefited from ADD zoomers watching during the long lockdown period and shit and now they're moving onto other things. Nijien probably will get better numbers from paying non-teenagers over the longer term as their slower audience growth is because their late launch did not gain them the large glut of casual non-paying viewers that Holoen got.
