She has CVID (common variable immune deficiency) which means her body is deficient in producing natural antibodies that fight illness and infections. It's like AIDS but you're born with it, and AIDS treatments don't work on CVID. That is her major condition. As a result, she caught a few nasty infections while she was still in school that effected her lungs and throat.
