I FINALLY FIGURED IT OUT
I'VE BEEN TRYING TO UNDERSTAND WHY TAKAMORI WAS CREATED THE WAY IT WAS, THERE HAD TO BE SOME ESOTERIC INTENT, AND I FINALLY BROKE THE CODE ON THE ENTIRE STORY TOLD THROUGH IMPLICATION OF HOLOMYTH
>the Japanese and the English speaking world came together in a harsh meeting in the middle 1850s via the Black Ship Incident
>the Americans came on ocean ships (Gura representing the power of those who came from the ocean, "Atlantean" may be a mistranslated of "American")
>their technology and power seemed otherworldly, with the Black Ships themselves being depicted as demonic beasts in art depicting the first contact (Ina is a representation of the outside unknown meeting with the Japanese arts)
>the commander of the ships reached out to the Japanese, told them of the opening and innovations that would be forced upon them, and left was named Matthew Calbraith Perry (Amelia was called the "protagonist" by genmates before, and "Calbraith" means "British Warrior," thus the British thematic association)
>the Black Ships and the resulting tumult of Japanese society resulted in the death of the Tokugawa Shougunate, as the policies of isolation invited an eventual Death of their government and way of life as it refused to change (Mori Calliope is the embodiment of "A Death which Courts Japan," to the point where her catchphrase "die, yo" is meant to invoke the word "daimyō," a key political structure of the Tokugawa Shogunate which was destroyed as a result of the end of their reign)
>the death of the Tokugawa Shogunate also marked the birth of the Meiji Restoration, during which Japan brought outsider ideas into itself to develop their country into one that was capable of standing on the world stage, while aiming to keep their unique sense of self alive (Kiara, as a phoenix otaku, embodies both a radical new rebirth, and preservation of traditional styles. Even her German language is used to represent the unique influence of the Prussian military system on the Meiji Restoration's innovations, which would lead to a military domination of the later eras of Japan under a constitution which did not delineate clear chain of command between the Parliament and the Armed Forces)
>The tear between the death of the old ways and embrace of the new was hard to process for many of the Old Guard in Japan, especially the Samurai class, which was embodied in one of the Three Great Nobles who both helped to bring about the Meiji Restoration, while ultimately dying in a rebellion against it that he was nearly forced to lead
>said Noble became a hero of Modern Japanese history for his tragic nature
>His name: Saigō Takamori
IT ALL MAKES PERFECT SENSE NOW
