There's a bunch of normies that got introduced to Salome, but then fell into Hololive instead thanks to their strong clip rec game, Salome not being integrated into the niji box (and even getting bullied by her senpai/management) and Holo having a much more powerful box.
You can match the recline of Salami's audience with them figuring out that she's not part of Hololive.

Also remember that Nijisanji's audience is Japanese Teens - since they have an "edgy" image in Japan.
And they will always be watching on phones - i.e. no chat.
Meanwhile Holo audience tend to be more otaku/ojisan oriented - i.e. watching at home on PC after work.

Clear evidence of an anon boosting /here/ and on 5ch/2ch, and Millie's case was a very obvious spike + Youtube bot cull. Even then it didn't even get near the podium so there was no real hubbub about her being in the tally.

I'm not saying it's not suspicious to have such slow chats for big events - especially the VSPO streams - but for regular fans all these instances have alternate explanations like people lurking, people coming and going within the stream etc.
And accusing big 3D streams of botting is pretty similar to how this thread accused Salami of botting, while it was pretty clear that JP normies were getting introduced to chuubas through her (who - funnily enough - started watching Hololive).
We already know Nijisanji has a big tourist/phone audience who watch only the big events - Koshien etc.
They also have plenty of rubbernecker viewers - people that hatewatch looking for the next bit of drama.

All in all, while "lololol nijibots" is a fun meme within the confines of this thread, the tally still takes the numbers as it is because there's still no irrefutable proof about botting accusations.
It's the same way we handled the "Z", when concrete proof of fuckery was discovered across multiple streams, and once we had a proper filter for these type of streams, the Z's got filtered from the tally.
