I don't think Japanese people care about Easter. Yesterday was うさぎの日 (rabbit day), so that's where all the bunny ears come from. The reason is that 3/3 can be read as mimi, which means ears and was extrapolated to stand for rabbits. Pretty convoluted, but most of these Japanese novelty holidays are.
