The difference is the business models and Cover corp being incompetent on the business side of things. I don't know how nijisanji is run, but hololive's biggest problem is that cover corp was a tech startup that used a vtuber (Sora) and then came across this brilliant virtual idol/talent idea but they have no idea how to negotiate or handle youtube. Hololive also has a lot more visibility to youtube because of its promotions and because they are corporate.
