I mean even putting aside how the anime "style" has evolved over decades, at this point I feel it's more relevant to recognize them as individual styles from artists or time period/movements of art.
Lucky Star and K-On! are both considered anime style.
So is Dirty Pair, so is Aggretsuko.
And this isn't even dealing with how so many styles have somewhat bled into western modern (internet) art culture.
Is Avatar The Last Airbender considered to have an Anime Art Style? or is it simply an evolution of a modern cartoon animation style?
You can see this type of thing in vtuber models too: Almost how people can subtly tell the difference between hand drawn and AI art, you can tell when an anime-character-esque vtuber model was drawn by someone in the west or east.
I could probably elaborate more if I tried, but it would end up being more of a discussion for /a/ tbdesu.

Unless I was lied to a while back, 'Passing' semester grades in JP School is like 30 or 40 (out of 100) or thereabouts, IIRC so that students aren't figuratively and literally killing themselves over getting 90+ scores, because the work is harder, and allows for more brainiacs to flourish or something.
A byproduct of this is that it allows semi-socially-competent retards to get a diploma or whatever the Japanese equivalent of one is saying they're thumbs up for entering society.
What's worse is that VTubing (as a streamer/talent) as a profession doesn't strictly require such a document, and even if it did it doesn't mean that much.
Though it is ironic and pure kek that this could mean that Western Chuubas that are HS Graduates are smarter on average than Eastern ones, idk
