NijiJP and HoloJP target 2 specific different audiences, and thus can both benefit from collabs.
NijiEN made the overly safe choice and simply doing Hololight, no risk, initial boost from getting a % of Hololive audience, but no room for growth. Thus, collabing isn't beneficial at all for Cover, understandably.
They could at last have included a few males in the first gens, they really bowed down to what Cover decided vtubing should be.

Yes, my hopes for NijiEN crumbled after a 3rd wave of only girls and pretty standard content. They really didn't have separate genders especially making 3 whole waves of girl only. It's like they're letting Hololive dictate the rules of all corpo vtubing in the west. Please do something, I want to believe.

Honestly it was totally expected.
Nijisanji made the uncharcteristic choice of avoiding risks and just targeting the exact same audience HoloEN already gathered, instead of trying to make their own. Honestly, calling it hololive discount is pretty right. Niji has shown their superiority on the homeland, going for originality, having mixed gender, people like Roha in NijiKR etc. As a result every single viewer of NijiEN girls know HoloEN, but very few HoloEN viewers heard about NijiEN.

And this is the natural result.

This, I expected so much more from Niji since NijiJP was so good and unique. Yet NijiEN feels just like another branch of Hololive, they took 0 risk, the safest choices just the typical hololive formula. Not even a single male in their first 2 waves, only the usual nice weeb girl gamers without much else going on.
Really disappointed honestly.

It was to be expected, NijiEN chose to go full Holo discount instead of the usual more creative and and varied style they have. They chose not to take any risk and just got this sanitized group of generic wide appeal girls to target the audience HoloEN created, instead of trying to make their own (riskier but more interesting).
That's why NijiEN barely qualify as "Nijisanji" honestly, and this is the result.

It's mostly bottom tier zoomer humor, the "lol some random" shit, never made any sense to me,thus I find them utterly unfunny. Pomu is alright tho, when she doesn't force herself to blend in. But yeah, they kinda dropped the ball with NijiEN, I had high hopes from Nijisanji but I guess this is not the gen, I'll stay watching NijiJP.

It was their chance to do something different, and yet they went full Hololive lite. Just your usual generic girl who enjoy some surface level anime and at best can kind of draw, with nothing else going for them. Hell one even had literally 0 experience and was just a vtweeter for months. Most of them are just your basic zoomer spamming nonsense.
There was so much potential, yet they went the safest and most boring route. So much for freedom of creation, what made Niji good in the first place, getting various talents of all sorts. NijiEN is just Hololive discount and the only reason people watch them is because they came in the vtubing fandom late and got to follow them from their debut.
I used to like Niji but they've been disappointing recently.

Nijisanji isn't really at fault, these 3 girls are just bland, 2 zoomers with the most generic zoomer jokes possible, barely any talent, normie tier tastes. Only Pomu stands out but is completly gutted by her design which you forget 2sec after you stopped looking at it. It's a terrible design even by her gen's standard which is quite low.
Overall the EN scouting and the guys who managed the model making are the ones to blame, Niji itself is pretty good usually.
And don't start with the "but they're such great friends, they mesh well" just shut up, anyone can be "friend" when they get a gold ticket to their dream career.
