>I'm a hiki with no family or friends, the only thing I had to look forward to that day was a VRChat stream my oshi was doing that same morning
>It's a small channel on top of it being a members only stream, not even 10 people participating at most, so great opportunity to get to interact with this woman I've been a Gosling for
>Spent a good chunk of the night before installing everything I'd need & importing models
>It's now the following morning/my birthday and time for the stream to start
>The game goes unresponsive & hard crashes my PC everytime that I hit launch all of a sudden
>Can't participate... that's painful, but at least I can still type in chat
>Use a membership superchat saying I couldn't play, but was still excited to spend my birthday watching her
>She's not reading chat because she's already got her VR headset on, so I couldn't even get a Happy Birthday, for I am speaking to The Void
>The few other members join and everyone's having a great time, while I can only silently observe
>Start feeling really depressed after about an hour of watching, so I just say I'm tired & going back to bed, but hope everyone has fun, turn the stream off and lay back down
>Hadn't cried in years, but proceeded to cry myself to sleep at the realization that escapism isn't enough, and that life's gonna be like this forever
