the second part doesn't make sense either, why would a particular portion of the viewers (that is also statistically proportional to the number of viewers, aka, the larger the audience, the larger the z) experience the same thing at the same time? unless EVERYONE that represents the Z population is living in literally the same place and the traffic from their network is coming from the same place, there's NO WAY that a significant portion (considering the spread of the population of viewers in japan) experience the peak/drop at the same time

here's my theory
YT is disabling and enabling the traffic coming from particular places to find where viewers are coming from and verify if they are real
now, you could say that traffic coming from one place can be explained with VPN's, but WHY is there such a big number of viewers using a VPN in the first place? yeah, sure "china", but that's not enough
