Are you trying to foreshadow multiple things within bridges that are back to back? If so you might benefit from letting yourself focus on one singular thing you want the reader to have little tastes of to put questions in their head. You can still have your other things in motion and in the air, but it might help to narrow your planning to one path at a time as far as what you present to the reader at the current moment.

Just from what I know so far, I can say that might be a near impossible sell. The girl who was basically kidnapped and forced to watch people she liked get killed has 0 reason to have a legit and fluffy bonding moment with her captors. If she was showing some real Stockholm syndrome up to this point it might be easier to weave, but I'm just not sure I'd be buying any of it unless you got for a pure "a mother and daughter's bond will always be true." kinda thing. Which, ehh alright, but it would almost seem jarring to include given the potential context.
