You don't have remove makeup, so I think it's fine with that. I normally do it after my shower or at least after I use shampoo and conditioner since it will get into your skin and dry out. Doing it after a shower on well you're showering your pores will be open and make it more effective and you don't need soap just to make sure if you're using it.
