On vtuber adjacent tech /news/, Google seriously fucked up their SPAM flagging AI.
Everybody here knows how bad they bungled the YouTube one but all of their code is shared in a single monorepo meaning SPAM detection is likely shared code between YouTube, search, GMail and other services.

Well, they’ve done it now. They fucked with GMail SPAM detection too.

Major complaint is that it flags genuine emails as SPAM and clear scams and unsolicited emails as not spam.
They’re fucked, clearly outsourcing their workforce to the lowest bidder abroad (India) and only keeping a local workforce of diversity hires to virtue signal didn’t go well.
