I think it's a very good design, yes.
I think the thing that I'd be critical of is that there are some expressions that are just more... expressive than others, I guess. It's kind of hard to put into words, but I think most people would have much less of an issue if she could go from the expression to expression with fluidity, instead of defaulting to the default range, if that makes any sense.
