Most of my childhood friends exist in a state of limbo where we acknowledge each others existence but have grown up to be totally unrelated individuals with nothing in common or even diametrically opposed, so that's a "no" there. As for the two guys I hang out with from time to time and whom I've known for a while, we just get together sometime because there's nothing else to do. Once you're 30+ it's extremely hard to find the time for social outings if you already aren't plugged into a group, and then there's work and so on. On top of that those who are married really have no reason to spend time with a 35 year old Slavic man who watches vtubers, works and sleeps so he can repeat the cycle. The gulf is too vast.

While it's absolutely true that I desire meaningful friendships and above that meaningful relationships with women, the "issue" is the same now as it was ten or more years ago - I'm not interested in gossiping about other people. I don't care who is fucking who, who got a promotion or is doing whateverthefuck, and even moreso I don't care about sportsball, construction, or which power tool is trash and which isn't. My interests are weeb stuff in terms of pop culture, and history, metaphysics, mythology and so on as a more serious thing. You older guys think you had it hard in say high school when you were the anime watching nerd? Here in Croatia nobody knew what anime was back then and they still don't. As for my other interests, people just aren't into that. I've been always fundamentally isolated from my peers regardless of age. I don't even feel lonely mind you, because my experience with friendship and genuine affection belongs to my childhood and early teenage years. The rest is just the norm.

It'll happen to you. Essentially your choice is to become like me, or get married. And the second option is something that can't be forced and may end in disaster. The game of life in [CURRENT YEAR] is rigged from start to finish, and we all get fucked.

It hasn't stopped, but it's not a constant pain. I've been there before, just not with Gura, and it's unbearable. Definitely don't envy any chumbuds going through that. That being said after super good streams, particularly karaoke, I want to be with her so bad I get a pit in my stomach that won't go away. Only thing that helps is a night of sleep, then I'm usually back to normal the next day. Long breaks and some of the greentext stories posted here can also have a similar effect.
