Expecting Nijisanji to stand toe to toe with Hololive's massive worldwide audience was always unrealistic, so they shouldn't have assumed that doing anything close to Hololive would be effective. It's like the battle royale genre; why would players abandon Fortnite or Apex for a pale imitation? Need to do your own thing, find your own audience

Based on the teaser, the original song already sounds generic. The idol direction can only work if the music isn't derivative. And in terms of trying to gain western audiences, wouldn't it make more sense to produce music that appeals to western ears?
