I love how people toss this word around as if they know what it means.

A sociopath is someone who cannot conceptualize the concept of "walking a mile in someone else's shoes" or to put it simply, they lack empathy for other human beings.

There are two types of sociopaths, high functioning sociopaths (aka psychopaths) tend towards being pathological liars, and EXTREMELY effective emotional manipulators. They are often highly popular people who can seamlessly garner sympathy or even empathy from others. Most people (70%) at the higher rungs of business regardless of their careers are high functioning sociopaths (aka psychopaths). They're personable, friendly and highly social. They also tend toward having multiple children and large families being very successful romantically. (it's believed most of humanity is becoming more sociopathic/psychopathic due to high functioning sociopaths having a much higher success rate at reproducing then empathetic people)

The second type of sociopath is the "low functioning" type. These people are emotionally retarded, they cannot comprehend other people emotionally at all, combined with their almost non-existant empathy these types of sociopaths tend to become criminals of some sort. They often have anger issues, and suffer from low levels of self control. About the only thing that can keep these types away from jail, is those with higher self control can keep themselves mostly in line.

Narcissism is rampant amongst sociopaths (both high and low), but narcissists are far more recognizable among the low functioning then the high, as the high can certainly hide their narcissism much better. That said sociopaths aren't necessarily narcissists, as narcissism requires an inflated sense of self worth, and it's entirely possible for a sociopath to loath themselves. Just like it's not entirely true a narcissist is a sociopath. It's entirely possible for someone to be perfectly capable with empathizing with others and have a vastly inflated sense of self worth and love. So don't think because someone is a narcissist they must be a sociopath.

TLDR: a high functioning sociopath (psychopath) would appear very "normal" sympathetic and popular. the only way you could tell they are a sociopath is through prolonged contact and communication and careful watching if their actions. if you ever think "that person is a sociopath when you have limited interactions with them, they must be a low functioning one or your just incorrectly attributing intentional cruelty/evil a psychological definition to sound smart.

no successful vtuber could possibly be a low functioning sociopath as they would never connect with their audience in a meaningful way. meaning it's the vtubers you never would believe are a sociopath are the most likely ones to be.
