Also, best shit in niche areas like prosthetics is all custom-made by skilled autists in their home workshops. Never forget that mass-production is just that: it's big corporations cutting corners for the sake of maximizing profit. You'd be surprised how much useful quality shit average person can do with minimal or no outside help when he's properly motivated.
