It was pretty sad. The one good thing I can say is that management did handle the situation well, essentially letting Rion and Hina go their own ways despite them being debuting as a bit of a unit. Their lore is that they are both students of Teika Academy, an LN-style magic high school. They have the same character designer and their outfits were both the Teika uniform. After the falling out Hina put a lore video in which she loses her memories due to a failed alchemic experiment and transfers schools, hence her new default outfit. The result is that Rion and Hina were basically able to split ways without either side looking bad.
