I'm a guy who watches vtubers but I don't understand this kind of mentality with other guys. I'm very selfish and self-serving. I support artists on Fanbox and I have membership with some vtubers, but purely because they provide content I appreciate, not because I love them as people. The idea of having a cute girlfriend who I can support is nice, but in reality if a girl confessed to me and we started going out, even if she was cute and genuinely nice it'd still collapse quickly because I'm a mess of a human who can barely function even taking care of himself. I'm okay with a vtuber being a little flirty with their audience but some like Lamy and Rushia take it too far and try to turn the entire stream into a mock date which makes me disgusted and unable to watch them. They're essentially sending me the message that I'm not wanted, that this is not an entertainment stream but a delusion stream. I can never get behind the idea of throwing tons of my hard-earned money at someone who can never return the favor like vtubers. Maybe it's because I've never truly been in love with anyone.
