Could be easy to do with one of the selfie-rig backpacks like pic related. Mount your phone to it with the vtuber software, aim it at your face, and then just go for a walk someplace. The illusion would be ruined the second you came to any kind of place where you had to take it off or had to bend over or stick your hands out in front of the camera.
