It's less that the nation has existed to those days, more that legends speak of the island first being populated in those days (partly to justify why people show non-traditional human traits such as animal ears and horns which would likely take a long time to develop, and also due to the fear of the branch coming into existance being quite old from my memory)
That said, I do think it wouldn't be too wrong to expect /mans/ entering the world stage as an officially recognized nation to be a fairly recent event. Maybe dating back a century +/- a decade or two. Should allow for some somewhat historical deals to be made, and also for some first contact stuff.

I could see there being somewhat of a boot camp for new, aspiring adventurers that these young lusquires might be allowed to participate in. Mostly to weed out those that the guild believe aren't ready to brave the wilds.

It's why I enjoyed Sana a lot. She was one of the few girls in EN that didn't lean into the "acting cute for chat" routine most vtuber girls do .. Though I guess that's why she wasn't entertaining for most men.
The other EN girls, save for Kiara and Irys I guess?, pander to men a bit too much for my tastes, or are just plain out unfunny.
