You hit the nail on the head. The main thing that makes Vtubers any better than Twitch thots is that you're watching it for the character onscreen, not the actress behind it. If a girl graduates and then becomes a different character, and you follow her anyway, you're not "loyal" or a "true fan". You're just a simp, no better than the very thing you used to make fun of.

But Rushia was ACTUALLY a big drama. Like Coco's graduation-tier. But now? Holofags keep posting their oshis like normal, and the fandead general has gone silent without so much as a goodbye, even though Coco still gets threads every now and then. If you didn't know any better, you'd think Rushia never even existed. One of the biggest most influential streamers has more-or-less been erased from history, and Holofags act like it's not even a big deal.
