Let's look at some of the times put up by the best college runners in Australia.

Queensland Men's 1500 final. Winning time was 3:51, slowest time was 4:04

Queensland Men's 800 final. Winning time was 1:53, slowest time was 1:59

Queensland Men's 400 final. Winning time was 46.5, slowest time was 50.0

These would be pretty good times....if these were high school athetes. Actually to be perfectly honest, that 46.5 is pretty good. But the rest of these are very bad, especially for a college FINAL. Another thing you will notice, if you look at these runners. You will not see a single person who is asian. That is just the reality.

And this is the largest and most populous Australian territory, Luca said he lives out in the boonies somewhere. Typically you will find the times out in the boonies are WAY slower, not only because of the lower population, but because the best athletes are always recruited by the urban centers.

For the record, I've known athletes who could bust a 3:45 in the 1500, then an hour later do a 1:45 in the 800, and then an hour later do a 45 second 400, all in the same day.

Bros, I'm looking up some track and field times by universities in Australia.
They're......not good. Like you have people being ranked who only completed a 400 in 62. And people completing a 1500 in 5 minutes somehow being ranked in the standings. Like not to be an asshole, but these are terrible times. Someone running that slow doesn't belong anywhere near a university team.
