This is incredibly true. Their biggest asset can be the sense of community they can create within the network of other conpanies and indies. Hololive is a closed loop, they are an island out at sea who fires heatseeker missiles at anyone who tries to get close. An isolationist state that feels sterile and corperate. Niji bucking that trend and feeling like an open family that collaborates across the sphere could endear them to the west in ways that Cover seems incredibly reluctant to do, whether it be due to the idol culture they have trapped the brand within, xenophobia from middle management, or just straight up standard corperate roadblocks put up by middle aged out-of-touch executives

I think this is more to do with Vshojos popularity and the fact that since they are the biggest western vtubers they unintentionally represent most of the west. I think you'll find a lot of /wvt/ viewers simply don't like Vshojo tier "comedy" (it gets made fun of a lot as poopoopeesex humor). There are plenty of non-sexual streamers out there, you just need to sift through some of the garbage before you find them. Quiet a lot of the ghostbin streamers avoid that type of humor so if you haven't seen any of them before please feel free to check them out.

I saw people talking about APEX last thread too and some newfriends trying to defend it.
The biggest problem which has been discussion often, is the game is way too oversaturated. When almost every single Hololive floods their channel with APEX videos AND a bunch of western chuubas do the same, it just becomes way too much.
It's kind of similar to the ARK situation holo had last year where the game became too popular. I don't know why indies fail to realize that playing it simply doesn't set you apart, why watch (You) play APEX when they could watch the holos?
So yeah, it's no wonder people get bored of it and refuse to watch streams that get linked playing APEX.
