Salome doesn't just say desu wa though. She plays the character and adapts it to situations in games with pretty good comedic timing. Think more as if Gura was acting like an aggressive slightly retarded smug shark loli all the time and it just worked with her voice and antics. Novelty will wear off for Salome sooner or later but she's still funny and already got more exposure than most vtubers get in their lifecycle.
